The National Teaching Council (NTC) has dismissed reports claiming that it has increased the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
The Council said the fee remains GH¢500, comprising GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing, with no increase since 2023.
The clarification comes amid the circulation of information on social media claiming that prospective candidates would have to pay a higher fee to register for the examination.
In a disclaimer issued by its Public Affairs Unit, the NTC said its attention had been drawn to a false publication alleging an increment in the examination fee.
“NTC wishes to state that the GTLE fee remains GH¢500 (GH¢450 for Registration and GH¢50 for Indexing), same as it has been since 2023,” the Council said, adding “there has been no increment.”
The Council urged the public to disregard any publication suggesting that the GTLE registration fee has been increased.
