The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has been sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund.
Her appointment is expected to reinforce oversight and strengthen support mechanisms for communities affected by projects undertaken by the Volta River Authority.
The Trust Fund was established to address the welfare and development needs of people displaced by the construction and operations of major VRA infrastructure, particularly those linked to hydropower projects.
Following her swearing-in, Ibrahimah described her appointment as an opportunity to expand her public service beyond parliamentary duties and contribute to initiatives that directly impact vulnerable communities.
She said the new role will allow her to support programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of families and settlements affected by VRA operations.
The Salaga South legislator also pledged to work closely with fellow board members to ensure that the Trust Fund effectively delivers development support and interventions to beneficiary communities across the country.
