Blame Dominic Ayine over Ofori-Atta’s Red Notice deletion – Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has blamed Attorney-General Dominic Ayine following the permanent deletion of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s INTERPOL Red Notice.

Speaking on Saturday, February 14, during an interview on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue, Cudjoe criticised the Attorney-General’s handling of the case, calling it “amateurish.”

“I accuse the Attorney-General, and I think the Attorney-General didn’t play fair. He was amateurish in his approach. And it didn’t help the case. He should have been nice about Kissi Agyebeng’s position, which he didn’t like.

“He shouldn’t have shown it publicly and courted public dissatisfaction for Kissi Agyebeng. I will fault the Attorney-General,” Cudjoe said.

The Red Notice was removed by the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF) after determining it was “predominantly political” and non-compliant with INTERPOL rules. The CCF’s 135th session on February 4, 2026, concluded that the data submitted by the INTERPOL National Central Bureau of Ghana did not meet INTERPOL standards and should be deleted.

There had been claims of tension between the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, and the Attorney-General regarding the handling of Ofori-Atta’s extradition, but Agyebeng later dismissed the claims.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor confirmed the Red Notice deletion, reiterating its commitment to due process and the fair, lawful, and impartial prosecution of corruption and corruption-related offences.
