The ministry of sports and recreation has denied any involvement in alleged irregularities surrounding the country’s 2026 World Cup visa arrangements.
Ministerial aide Wonder Sitsofe Mandel said the ministry only forwarded applications through administrative channels and did not guarantee approvals for any applicant.
The ministry has pledged full cooperation with police investigations into the matter.
Meanwhile, the minority in Parliament is demanding broader scrutiny of the institutions and officials linked to the controversy.
