Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, has congratulated the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team for emerging champions of the 2025 World University Football Championship in Dalian, China.
The UDS football team made history by winning the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football in Dalian, China. UDS defeated Brazil’s Paulista University 2–1 to clinch the global title.
In a statement issued on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana on Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Ambassador praised the players, coaching staff, and management team for their hard work and discipline, which secured the historic victory.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to your hard work, discipline, and unyielding determination. By excelling on the international stage, you have lifted high the flag of Ghana and brought honour not only to your university but to the entire nation,” Kojo Bonsu said.
He added that the triumph should serve as a source of inspiration to young athletes across the country, reinforcing the values of teamwork, resilience, and excellence.
Ambassador Bonsu described the win as a proud moment for Ghana, underscoring the potential of Ghanaian youth to excel globally when given the right support and opportunities.
