The National Lottery Authority (NLA) will cease all manual paper-based lotto operations from Thursday, October 1, 2026. The directive affects all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), agents and writers operating under the NLA.

In a public announcement issued on Monday, September 28, 2026, the NLA warned that operators who fail to comply will not be permitted to operate and will face the full rigours of the law.

“All PLOs, Agents, and Writers who fail to comply with this directive will not be permitted to operate and will face the full rigours of the law,” the NLA stated.

The directive marks the end of manual paper-based lotto operations, as the Authority moves to enforce the cessation of the system across the country.

Registration of Lotto Marketing Companies

The NLA has encouraged operators interested in continuing their activities to register as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs).

Those seeking registration have been advised to contact the Authority’s sales managers at its regional or district offices nationwide.

The announcement also provided a contact person, Aisha Tackie, for operators seeking further information on the registration process. The Authority said operators could reach her on 0247 242 942.

The directive is expected to affect private lotto operators, agents, and writers who continue to rely on manual paper-based systems beyond the October 1 deadline.
