  • DVLA Commission New District Office in Salaga

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned a new district office in Salaga, marking another major step in its efforts to expand access to vehicle registration and driver licensing services across Northern Ghana.

The new office is expected to provide residents of Salaga and surrounding communities with easier access to essential DVLA services, eliminating the need for long and costly journeys to other districts. The initiative is aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing road safety, and promoting compliance with Ghana’s road traffic regulations.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, DVLA officials reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to decentralising its operations and ensuring that quality licensing and vehicle registration services are accessible to all Ghanaians, regardless of their location.

The Salaga office is among five new DVLA service centres being commissioned across Northern Ghana this month as part of the Authority’s nationwide expansion programme. Similar offices are being opened in Yendi, Navrongo, Nalerigu, and Tumu, while a sod-cutting ceremony will also be held for the construction of a new office in Bole.

Local leaders and residents welcomed the establishment of the new office, describing it as a significant boost to transportation services and local economic development. They expressed confidence that the facility will improve convenience for motorists, reduce travel time and costs, and strengthen the delivery of public services in the area.

The commissioning of the Salaga office underscores the DVLA’s commitment to modernising its operations and bringing efficient, customer-focused services closer to communities across the country.
