Tamale Technical University has admitted 8,664 students into its various academic programmes during its 8th matriculation ceremony, out of a total of 9,024 applicants.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bashiru I. I. Saeed, attributed the steady growth in student enrolment to sustained public confidence in the institution’s academic programmes.


According to him, the most subscribed programmes include the Bachelor of Technology with 4,268 students, the Diploma of Technology with 2,078 students, and other programmes which enrolled 2,318 students.
Prof. Saeed advised the newly admitted students to focus on acquiring digital skills, make productive use of technology, and remain committed to their academic work.
He also emphasized the importance of discipline and cautioned students against engaging in substance abuse.
He further highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the university, including the “Green and Clean Campaign,” which aims to improve campus sanitation and security.

He added that the university is also planning to construct a multi-purpose auditorium and additional student hostels to support the growing student population.

The Deputy Inspector General of Schools, Dr. Ayisha Gomda, also urged the fresh students to take their studies seriously and remain focused throughout their academic journey.
Some of the newly matriculated students expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to remain dedicated to achieving their academic goals.
