Tamale Mayor engages Aboabo market traders, assures swift action on challenges

1

The Mayor of Tamale, Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro, has reiterated the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly’s commitment to deepening community engagement and strengthening collaboration with residents and stakeholders across the metropolis.

This assurance followed a working visit on Monday to the Aboabo Market, where the Mayor interacted with traders, including yam sellers at the Yam Market enclave and shop operators at the Aboabo Supermarket.

The visit forms part of the Assembly’s broader strategy to maintain regular contact with economic actors whose activities drive livelihoods and commerce in the city.

According to the Mayor, the engagement offered an important opportunity to listen directly to traders about their concerns, grievances, and the operational challenges affecting their businesses. He noted that such first-hand interactions help the Assembly better understand the evolving needs within the trading environment.

Alhaji Takoro pledged that the Assembly will move swiftly to address the issues raised, emphasizing that improving market conditions remains a key priority in promoting sustainable economic activity in Tamale.

We are committed to working closely with you to enhance the overall trading environment, he assured the traders. Your concerns will be acted upon with urgency as we collectively build a more vibrant and inclusive local economy.

The visit is expected to feed into the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to implement responsive policies and interventions aimed at supporting traders and improving infrastructure within major markets in the metropolis.
