Former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has continued his campaign tour of the Western Region ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer elections scheduled for 31 January 2026.

Dr Bawumia, who is contesting to lead the party into the 2028 general elections, engaged with party delegates and supporters in the Jomoro, Ellembelle and Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituencies, where he shared what he described as his transformative policies for both the party and the country.

In a post on his official social media page, Dr Bawumia wrote, “I had exciting engagements yesterday, with fellow patriots in Jomoro, Ellembelle and Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituencies, as I shared my transformative policies for both party and country.

The welcome was massive, the message was well received and the quest to win with me was strongly stated by our hardworking patriots. My sincere appreciation to all of you. Let us remain focused, and keep working hard together.”

His recent engagements form part of a nationwide campaign aimed at strengthening his support base among delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primary. Dr Bawumia has been touring several regions to communicate his vision for a united, innovative and digitally driven NPP.

Bawumia’s message has emphasised the need for unity and focus within the party, calling on members to work collectively towards retaining power in 2028.
