The daughter of the immediate former Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Lawyer Latifa Teiya Fuseini, has paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Yaa-Naa Abukari II, at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, to present her academic laurels following her remarkable achievement at the Ghana School of Law.

Lawyer Teiya, who was adjudged the Overall Best Graduating Student during the 2025 Call to the Bar ceremony in Accra, led a delegation comprising her father, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, her mother, relatives, and friends to seek the blessings and counsel of the Dagbon King after her official induction into the legal profession.

Receiving her at the Gbewaa Palace, Ndan Yaa-Naa Abukari II commended Lawyer Teiya for her outstanding academic performance, describing her as a source of pride not only to her family but also to the entire Dagbon Kingdom.

He urged her to uphold integrity, humility, and professionalism in her legal practice, noting that her success should inspire other young women in the north to pursue excellence in education and leadership.

As part of her visit, Lawyer Teiya and her entourage also called on prominent Islamic scholars and sectarian leaders in Dagbon, including Sheikh Imam Ibrahim Basha, Northern Regional Chief Imam of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah and leader of Nuriya Islamic Institute; Sheikh Abubakari Saeed, leader of the Anbariya Sunni Community; and Sheikh Abdul Salam, the Northern Regional Chief Imam.

The young lawyer expressed gratitude for the spiritual guidance and prayers offered by the traditional and religious leaders, emphasizing her commitment to serving society with integrity and advocating for justice and equality, especially for women and children.

Lawyer Latifa Teiya Fuseini’s academic distinction at the Ghana School of Law, where 824 individuals were called to the Bar, has drawn widespread commendation from Ghanaians, with many describing her as a beacon of inspiration for young people across the country, particularly in northern Ghana.

Her visit to the Gbewaa Palace and key religious figures symbolises the unity between tradition, faith, and education in shaping the next generation of professionals from Dagbon.
