Yendi, Ghana – The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, has assured the overlord of Dagbon, Ndan Yaa-Naa Abubakari Mahama II, of his ministry’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across Northern Ghana.
The minister, who was accompanied by his deputy, Hon. Alhassan Suhiyini, paid a courtesy visit to the Yaa-Naa at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
The visit formed part of his working tour of the Northern Region to assess the state of roads and engage key stakeholders.
The Ndan Yaa-Naa warmly welcomed the delegation and urged the ministers to remain committed to the development agenda of President John Dramani Mahama.
He encouraged them to work diligently and champion projects that will uplift the socio-economic well-being of the people.
In response, Hon. Agbodza pledged to prioritize the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the northern part of the country, stressing that the region has long faced infrastructural challenges that need urgent attention.
“The state of roads in Northern Ghana is a major concern, and under my leadership, we are determined to address this head-on,” he said.
“Our approach will be rooted in effective project management and sustainable solutions that ensure long-term benefits for the people.”

Hon. Agbodza, a seasoned architect and politician, brings a wealth of experience to the Roads and Highways Ministry.
He reiterated that his vision for the ministry includes harmonizing national road development efforts, promoting efficiency in execution, and ensuring value for money in all projects undertaken.
The minister’s tour is expected to provide a first-hand understanding of the challenges on the ground and shape the ministry’s roadmap for improved connectivity and economic growth in the north.
