MP for Nanton organises free eye screening and treatment for constituents

The Member of Parliament for the Nanton Constituency, Honourable Dr. Mohammed Sherif Abdul-Khaliq, has organised a free eye screening and treatment program for residents of Zien.

The initiative, aimed at promoting good health among constituents, is part of the MP’s broader vision to enable his people to fully benefit from ongoing developmental projects in the area.

A team of health professionals engaged by the MP conducted the screening and provided treatment to participants. The program drew 132 individuals, including men, women, and youth from the constituency.

Following the screening, participants received treatment and medication, while 47 individuals with special cases were scheduled for free surgeries to be performed within a week.

The gesture has been widely appreciated, with many acknowledging it as an unprecedented effort in the constituency.

Mr. Amadu Alhassan, Deputy Communications Officer for the Nanton Constituency, lauded the MP for his dedication to healthcare.

He emphasized that the initiative would not be a one-time event but part of a continuous effort to improve the health of constituents.

Similarly, Mr. Mohammed Awal, a resident, expressed his gratitude to the MP for prioritising the health needs of the people, describing the program as a life-changing intervention.

Dr. Abdul-Khaliq’s commitment to addressing healthcare challenges has been commended by various stakeholders, who see it as a step towards enhancing the well-being of the Nanton Constituency.

The initiative has not only brought relief to many but also reinforced the MP’s determination to improve the lives of his constituents.

With health being a cornerstone of development, the MP’s efforts are expected to yield significant long-term benefits for the community.
