Prominent Ghanaian businessman, philanthropist, and sports administrator Herbert Mensah is among the distinguished individuals to be honoured at the National Honours and Awards ceremony to be held Monday, December 30, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Mr Mensah, currently serving as President of Rugby Africa and an Executive Board Member of World Rugby, will be recognised for his exceptional contributions to sports development and philanthropy in Ghana and across Africa.
With over three decades of experience in business and management, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives in diverse fields, including rugby, football, and corporate social responsibility.
A graduate of the University of Sussex, UK, Mr Mensah has held key roles throughout his illustrious career, ranging from rebuilding the legacy of Kumasi Asante Kotoko as its chairman to leading distributorships for global brands such as Motorola and Nokia in Africa.
His tenure as President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union marked significant growth for the sport in Ghana.
Beyond sports, Mr Mensah has passionately championed causes like the May 9th Foundation, which supports victims of the tragic 2001 Accra Sports Stadium disaster, and the Shen Yang & Shen Yuet Children’s Heart Foundation, aiding children with critical health needs.
The investiture ceremony to be presided over by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, celebrates individuals whose dedication and achievements have advanced Ghana’s development.
