MASLOC appoints Kessie Ibrahim as Northern sector manager amidst leadership changes

171

The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Kessie Ibrahim as the Northern Sector Manager.

This strategic move comes as part of MASLOC’s ongoing efforts to enhance its services across Ghana, particularly in the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Savannah, and North East regions.

Mr. Ibrahim brings a diverse professional background to his new role, having previously served in key positions such as Director at Morning Star International School in Tamale and Chief Executive Officer of Kesmi Ultimate Group of Companies.

His extensive experience in both the corporate and educational sectors is expected to drive MASLOC’s mission of providing financial support to small and medium enterprises in the northern regions.

Madam Abigail Elorm Mensah, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC, expressed confidence in Mr. Ibrahim’s capabilities.

She stated that his expertise and leadership would be invaluable in advancing MASLOC’s objectives and contributing to the broader agenda of economic development in Ghana.

Madam Mensah herself assumed the role of Acting CEO earlier this month, following her appointment by President John Dramani Mahama. She has pledged to improve the recovery rate of loans disbursed by MASLOC, aiming to increase it beyond the current 51%.

Additionally, she plans to leverage digitalization to streamline operations, enabling applicants to access services remotely.

The leadership transition at MASLOC also saw the resignation of the former CEO, Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah, who served the organization for eight years. During her tenure, she was recognized for her efforts in capacity building and was honoured as the “Capacity Building Shero of the Year” at the Women’s Choice Award Africa.

These developments underscore MASLOC’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team and enhancing its services to support small and medium enterprises across Ghana.
