Mahama promises to resume work on Asesewa water project if elected

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has assured chiefs and people of Asesewa that work will resume on the long-delayed water project if the NDC returns to office.

The NDC started a water project where pipes were laid but the project was abandoned moments after the party lost the elections and moved out of office.

Addressing chiefs and people of Asesewa in the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency, on Friday, November 22, during his final day of a five-day tour, Mr. Mahama assured the residents that the project would resume.

Koforidua and a lot of towns within the Eastern Region didn’t have water so they embarked on a project to draw water from this town to Koforidua for distribution.

Looks like they forgot that those of us close to the water body can also drink from it. During Professor Mill’s time, the chiefs complained that these two lacked good drinking water.

The NDC government started a project to get water for this community. We laid pipe tubes to this police station. Unfortunately, the NDC left power and just like that, the project was abandoned. Don’t worry, when we come back to power we will resume the project so that Asesewa can get good drinking water.

Regarding the historic Asesewa market, Mahama promised to oversee its transformation into a modern market that meets the community’s needs.
