Damongo Constituency’s Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has urged constituents to look forward by rejecting former MP and NDC Parliamentary candidate for the 2024 elections, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, popularly known as “Garlus.”
Labeling Garlus as “tired and expired,” Jinapor called on voters to choose leaders who bring tangible development to the area.
Addressing students at the Damongo Nursing and Midwifery Training School on November 10, 2024, Jinapor made the remarks while presenting a brand-new 50-seater bus to the school, a promise he fulfilled in response to Garlus’s earlier challenge to match his contributions to the community.
Lawyer Jinapor emphasized the development strides made under his tenure, including new classroom blocks, hostels, and computers, which he said have significantly improved the school’s facilities.
During his address, Jinapor also highlighted his work to alleviate transportation and accommodation struggles faced by the school, a sentiment echoed by the school’s principal, Hajia Rabiatu Iddris, who praised the MP for his continued support.
This bus and the new facilities solve long-standing issues that affected both students and staff, she said.
Prior to this event, Jinapor also met with teachers across the constituency, pledging GHC 100,000 as seed capital for a teachers’ welfare fund and promising each teacher a laptop to support their work.
Concluding his speech, Jinapor urged the NDC in Damongo to invest in young, fresh leaders rather than relying on “expired” figures, assuring constituents that he remains committed to the progress and prosperity of Damongo.
