Manchester United manager Michael Carrick says he will accept responsibility for whatever decision the club makes regarding his future, following an eight-game winless run that has increased pressure on his position.

The former United midfielder is facing growing criticism after his side suffered a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The result has deepened frustration among a section of supporters, with some now calling for his dismissal as the club struggles to turn its fortunes around.

What once appeared to be a fairytale spell for Carrick has developed into a difficult period, with the prolonged wait for a victory changing the mood around his tenure.

His early promise now contrasts sharply with the scrutiny surrounding his position, as disappointing results continue to fuel debate over whether he should remain in charge.

Carrick has acknowledged his responsibility for the situation and indicated that he will accept whatever course the club chooses to take.

The defeat by Bournemouth has become the latest setback in a sequence that has left Carrick under increasing pressure to deliver a response.

For supporters demanding change, the eight-match winless streak has become the central concern, alongside the disappointment of losing heavily at home.

Carrick now faces the challenge of restoring confidence while questions about his future continue to dominate discussion.

The immediate focus remains on ending the winless run, but the broader issue is whether he will retain the opportunity to oversee that recovery.
