Police officers from the Red Maria unit have carried out a raid in parts of Kakpagyili in Tamale, following intelligence about suspected drug-related activities in the area.
Sources told Radio Tamale that officers moved into the location unannounced after reports that it was being used as a base for the sale and use of narcotics, including marijuana and other harmful substances.

Several people were reportedly arrested during the operation, while motorcycles and other vehicles believed to belong to some suspects were seized and taken to the police station for further investigation.
During searches of the vehicles, officers reportedly found substances suspected to be Indian hemp, Tramadol and other related drugs.

Police have not yet issued an official statement on the number of arrests or the quantities of substances seized. Investigations are expected to continue.
