Ghana’s rise reflects the momentum gained from key victory and competitive showings against higher-ranked opponents during the tournament. Their opening-night win over Panama, sealed by a dramatic 95th-minute goal, proved especially pivotal, adding over 33 ranking points in a single update, the largest gain by any nation in this period.

While the Black Stars remain 14th in Africa, the upward trajectory signals renewed confidence ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
