An inter‑school anti‑corruption quiz held in Tamale on Thursday brought senior high school pupils together to champion integrity and raise awareness of the dangers of graft.
The event, organised by the International Center for Public Development (ICPD) in partnership with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), took place at Tamale Girls Senior High School and featured teams from Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO), Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO), Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) and the host school.

ICPD officials said the competition formed part of a broader effort to empower young people with knowledge about accountability, ethical conduct and the legal consequences of corruption. An educational video was screened during the programme and students were urged to report suspected corrupt activities to EOCO.
“Students must reject corruption in all its forms and embrace honesty and integrity as they prepare to serve the nation,” organisers told participants, stressing the role of youth in shaping a transparent civic culture.
At the close of the contest, Tamale Senior High School was crowned overall winner, with Ghana Senior High School placing second, Northern School of Business third and Tamale Girls Senior High School fourth. Schools received awards recognising their performance.

Organisers said the competition aims to produce student ambassadors who will promote accountability and ethical behaviour in their schools and communities, helping to build a generation more resistant to corruption.
