The Minority Caucus in Parliament has held a high-level meeting with officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to provide feedback on Ghana’s recent economic developments and discuss issues affecting the country’s economic stability.

According to a statement issued by the Caucus on Monday, March 16, the discussions were described as “constructive and mutually beneficial,” with both sides demonstrating a shared commitment to promoting sound governance and responsible economic management in Ghana.

The engagement, which was requested by the Minority Caucus, provided a platform for lawmakers to directly share their perspectives and concerns with IMF representatives on the country’s economic outlook, policy direction, and growth prospects.

Key members of the Minority who participated in the meeting included Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Second Deputy Minority Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Ranking Member on Finance Mohammed Amin Adam, Ranking Member on Economy and Development Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Chairman on Budget Kweku Agyeman Kwarteng, Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee Abena Osei-Asare, and Deputy Ranking Member on Energy Collins Adomako-Mensah.

The Minority emphasized that the meeting formed part of its broader effort to contribute to national economic discussions and ensure transparency and accountability in the management of Ghana’s economy.
