A head-on collision on the Kintampo Highway has claimed two lives, prompting an urgent emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The accident, which occurred on Friday, March 13, 2026, involved a private vehicle and a public transport minibus near Tuobodom.
The Techiman Fire Station received a distress call at 16:42 hours reporting the serious collision. A GNFS rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene to provide critical assistance to victims trapped in the wreckage.
The crash involved an Opel Astra with registration number GW-3932-S and a minibus registered as GT-4595-11. Upon arrival, firefighters conducted an extraction operation to free passengers caught in the mangled vehicles.
Injured survivors were quickly handed over to the ambulance service and rushed to the Holy Family Hospital for urgent medical care
The bodies of the two who died in the crash were recovered by the GNFS team and handed over to the Ghana Police Service for identification and further investigations.
Authorities have launched an inquiry into the cause of the accident, while Bono East regional officials have renewed calls for drivers to exercise caution on the Kintampo Highway to prevent further accidents.
