67

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed an investigation into allegations that some police personnel at Kibi were involved in the unauthorised withdrawal of GH¢400,000 from an agent’s mobile money account.

The directive follows the circulation of a viral video on social media alleging the involvement of the officers in the incident.

In response, the IGP has tasked the Ghana Police Service’s Police Professional Standards Bureau to conduct a thorough probe into the claims.

According to the police, the alleged victim has been contacted and is cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to establish the facts surrounding the matter.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that the investigation will be conducted professionally, adding that the outcome will be made public once the process is concluded.
