Ghana international Abdul Fatau Issahaku was on the scoresheet, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Leicester City from a defeat to Birmingham City in the English Championship clash on Saturday.

The Black Stars winger started and lasted 77 minutes, as the Foxes succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat to Birmingham City in the round 31 fixture, held at the St. Andrew’s Knighthead Park.

Despite the loss, Issahaku continued his fine form this season, emerging as one of the standout performers for the Foxes against Birmingham.

The home team wasted no time in opening the scoring, with Ghana international Ibrahim Osman, who recently joined the club firing home the first goal of the match.

The on-loan Brighton attacker broke the deadlock after just three minutes into the match.

In the 21st-minute mark, Issahaku found the net the level the pegging for the visitors, as the first half of the match ended in a scoring draw.

A dominant performance in the second half saw Birmingham City securing victory through Jay Stansfield in the 67th-minute mark.

The 21-year-old winger has been the main man for Leicester City this season, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists in 31 appearances in the Championship.

Issahaku’s compatriot, Jordan Ayew, who is the captain of the Black Stars made substitute appearances as his outfit fell short to Birmingham City. He was introduced in the 77th-minute, but was unable to salvage the side from a defeat.
