Trey Songz arrested for assault and mischief charges after Manhattan nightclub brawl

R&B singer Trey Songz, 41, was arraigned in Manhattan criminal court on Sunday following an early morning altercation at Dramma Night Club in Times Square.

Prosecutors reported that the singer, born Tremaine Aldon Neverson, punched a nightclub employee after being told the venue was closing at approximately 4:25 a.m. on December 4. The incident reportedly escalated after Neverson became “needlessly irate.”

In a separate incident the same morning at Mira, a restaurant and hookah lounge in Manhattan, Neverson allegedly caused approximately $1,500 in property damage, including hookahs, DJ equipment, and sofas, leading to a second-degree mischief charge.

Neverson appeared in court wearing a black face mask and was released on his own recognizance. The employee involved in the nightclub incident has secured an order of protection against the singer, who is said to be a regular patron of Dramma Night Club.

In a statement, Neverson’s attorney, Mitchell Schuster, contended that the singer was provoked by individuals attempting to surround him, adding that his security team intervened to contain the situation. “Despite being the target of the initial provocation, Trey was arrested,” Schuster said.

Trey Songz, known for songs such as “Slow Motion” and “Mr. Steal Your Girl,” has previously faced legal challenges, including aggravated assault and sexual assault allegations.

He is scheduled to return to court on February 18, 2026.
