GWM cuts delivery times for Africa with new Dubai parts centre

Great Wall Motor (GWM) is promising a major upgrade in after-sales reliability for African markets especially Ghana after opening its Dubai Parts Distribution Centre.

This was confirmed to the media on day three of GWM’s 2026 Accelerate Beyond The Next Frontier Event.

The company says the expanded facility will cut delivery times and reinforce its aggressive 2026 growth agenda across the Middle East and Africa.

Located in Dubai’s industrial zone, the massive warehouse supplies parts to more than 30 markets, but officials say Africa now sits at the centre of its expansion strategy.

For years, Chinese auto brands have struggled with slow delivery, limited parts stock and weak service networks. But GWM insists this facility marks a turning point.

Director in Charge of After-Sales for Africa and Middle East Ahmed Salih, told Citi Business that the centre is already reshaping supply timelines for African markets.

“From this location, we already supply for more than 30 markets, including the Middle East and Africa. The purpose of establishing this facility is to support the Middle East and Africa to reduce the lead time,” he said.

Salih explained that imports previously took “more than 90 days or 80 days,” but the new system changes that. “Once they order, the part is ready for collection in Dubai within five working day and for urgent orders, it will be available to ship the next working day.”

With Africa’s demand rising, GWM is increasing stock levels for critical components.

“As a new market and the volume increasing market, we are trying to keep more stock for special items. Mainly for Ghana, we have a separate support to support this particular bigger market,” he noted.

He added that the brand is prioritizing engines, transmissions, axles, and key SUV and pickup components. “We want the cars to be moving and customer satisfaction is our primary goal.”

Salih said the entire investment is designed to match and eventually rival the experience customers receive from Japanese and Korean brands.

“The same customer should have a really comfortable way to get the parts secured and vehicle running and have a good experience in the Great Wall Motor brand.”
