Tamale, Ghana – The Inspector General of Police’s Special Operations Team, led by ASP Abdul-Jalil Bawa, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Head of the Anbariya Sunni Community in Tamale, Sherk Abubakari Zakaria Saa-ed, to seek spiritual blessings and guidance as part of efforts to strengthen their commitment to national service.
The visit, described by officials as both significant and symbolic, highlighted the vital role of spiritual grounding in the demanding work of law enforcement and national security.

Sherk Abubakari Zakaria Saa-ed warmly received the delegation, commending the Special Operations Team for its sacrifices and dedication to maintaining peace, order, and public safety across the country.
He urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, stressing that policing is not only a constitutional mandate but also a divine responsibility.
“You must perform your duties without fear or favour,” the cleric advised. “Your service is a trust from God and a duty to humanity. Let fairness, humility, and respect for human dignity guide every decision you make.”

During the engagement, the revered cleric offered extensive prayers for the team, calling on Allah to grant them strength, courage, wisdom, patience, and perseverance as they confront threats and navigate complex security challenges.
He prayed for divine protection over the officers, asking that they be guided in all their actions and steadfast in upholding justice and compassion.

Sherk Abubakari Zakaria Saa-ed also extended his prayers to the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and all security institutions across the country.
He asked Allah to bless the leadership of the security services with wisdom, foresight, clarity of thought, and integrity, and to strengthen the nation’s entire security architecture, including the police, military, immigration, fire service, and allied agencies.

He further prayed for protection against corruption, injustice, and oppression, urging officers to remain disciplined, impartial, and committed to truth and righteousness.
According to him, the moral fabric of security institutions must be guarded as carefully as the physical safety of citizens.
The cleric also invoked blessings upon the families of security personnel, acknowledging the sacrifices made by relatives who support officers serving in often dangerous environments. He prayed for their peace of mind, protection, and divine reward.
In response, ASP Abdul-Jalil Bawa expressed profound gratitude for the prayers and spiritual counsel. He assured the cleric that the Special Operations Team remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights.
He added that the team would continue to work to strengthen public trust in the police service.
“We are deeply encouraged by your prayers and guidance,” he said. “We will continue to uphold the values of discipline, unity, and service to the nation.”

The visit concluded with a final round of prayers led by Sherk Abubakari Zakaria Saa-ed for peace, stability, and security across Ghana.
He prayed that Allah shield the nation from conflict, injustice, and danger, and bless the country with prosperity and unity.
The engagement, officials noted, reinforces the longstanding relationship between religious leaders and security institutions, underscoring the importance of faith and moral support in enhancing the resilience and effectiveness of security personnel.
