The Member of Parliament for Tolon, Hon. Habib Iddrisu, has supported transportation and safety efforts in the Zantani enclave with the donation of a 40-horsepower executive engine boat and 50 life jackets to aid the movement of people and goods across local water routes.

Hon. Iddrisu, who made the presentation during a visit to the community, said the gesture was part of his commitment to improving access, connectivity, and economic activity in hard-to-reach parts of the constituency.

He noted that residents of Zantani and surrounding communities rely heavily on river transport for farming, trade, and basic mobility, making safety and efficiency critical.

During the visit, the MP also toured several other communities, including Munya, Kaa, Gundu, Kapalnaayili, and Toroyili, where he interacted with residents and inspected ongoing development concerns.

The latest intervention follows a similar effort by the Tolon District Assembly, which recently provided a transport engine boat to improve accessibility for communities along the river.

Both initiatives are expected to significantly enhance local trade, support emergency response, reduce travel risks, and boost overall economic and social development in the area.

The MP reiterated his commitment to working with traditional authorities, the Assembly, and community leaders to ensure continuous improvement in infrastructure and public services across the constituency.
