Five people, including a radio presenter, were shot in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region when unidentified gunmen attacked their residence on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Three of the victims, including a five-year-old child, died instantly, while two others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Among the injured is George Bukari, the manager of Binduri-based Maxx Empire Radio and TV.
Residents say the attack is believed to be linked to the long-running Bawku conflict, which has claimed multiple lives and displaced several families since it erupted in November 2021.
In a separate development, a mentally challenged man was reportedly shot dead by military personnel at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku, further heightening tensions in the area. Security officials have yet to comment on both incidents.
