The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will brief Parliament on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, about the payment of statutory funds and other key financial matters.

This was announced by the Majority Leader, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, who also chairs the Business Committee of Parliament. He announced while presenting the Business Statement for the week ending Friday, June 6, 2025.

Mr. Ayariga said that during the week, 11 ministers are expected to appear before Parliament to answer a total of 72 questions.

He also mentioned that some ministers may be allowed to make statements on government policies. In addition, the House may receive papers and reports from committees for discussion.

During the session, Deputy Minority Whip Mr. Habib Iddrisu and Minority Chief Whip Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh asked when the Finance Minister would present the Mid-Year Budget.

The Minority also questioned why President John Dramani Mahama approved only one day — June 6 — as a public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha, despite earlier promises to grant Muslims two days.

In response, Mr. Ayariga said the Mid-Year Budget would be presented at the appropriate time. He also assured Parliament that the Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, would appear before the House to amend the Public Holidays Bill, so it matches the President’s promise.
