In a move to promote cultural heritage and community development, GCB Bank PLC has donated 2,000 bags of cement to aid the reconstruction of the historic new Gbewaa Palace, the traditional seat of the Dagbon Kingdom in Northern Ghana.

The donation, which highlights the Bank’s commitment to national development and cultural preservation, was presented by the Managing Director of GCB Bank, Alhaji Farhan Dandaawa. He handed over the consignment to the Public Relations Officer and Secretary of the Gbewaa Palace during a brief ceremony at the palace grounds.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Dandaawa emphasised the importance of supporting projects that strengthen cultural identity and foster unity among communities.
“The Gbewaa Palace is not just a symbol of Dagbon’s tradition, but also of Ghana’s rich cultural diversity. GCB Bank is proud to contribute to this historic reconstruction effort,” he said.
The reconstruction of the Gbewaa Palace is a major cultural initiative aimed at restoring the seat of the Dagbon Kingdom to its former glory. The palace stands as a significant emblem of authority, unity, and continuity for the Dagbon people.

Representatives of the palace expressed profound gratitude to GCB Bank for its generous support, noting that the donation will go a long way in accelerating the completion of the project.
GCB Bank’s donation reinforces its role not only as a financial institution but also as a key partner in national development, particularly in areas of culture, education, and community welfare.
