Tamale, Ghana – February 25, 2025: The newly appointed Acting Managing Director of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), Ing. John Okine Yamoah has outlined a bold vision for the company, promising reforms to improve financial stability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Speaking to the media at a press briefing, Mr. Yamoah acknowledged the significant challenges facing the organization but expressed confidence in overcoming them with the right strategies and stakeholder collaboration.
In his inaugural address, the Ag. Managing Director expressed gratitude to the President of Ghana, NEDCo management, and stakeholders for the trust placed in him.
Ing. Yamoah emphasized NEDCo’s vital role in national socio-economic development and reaffirmed his commitment to service excellence, efficiency, and innovation.
Highlighting the company’s most pressing issues, he identified three major challenges: Low Revenue Collection, High Distribution Losses and Low Customer Satisfaction.
Despite these challenges, he assured that they are not insurmountable, emphasizing the experience and expertise of NEDCo’s staff as critical assets in addressing them.
He outlined four key areas of focus to transform NEDCo’s operations: Enhancing revenue collection and efficiency, Improving operational efficiency to minimize losses, Elevating customer experience and satisfaction and Boosting staff productivity
The Ag. Managing Director also stressed the need for teamwork, urging all stakeholders including employees, customers, and government agencies to support the transformation agenda.
He called for constructive criticism, innovation, and dedication to achieving NEDCo’s goals.
We are in this together and shall remain in it together, he stated, emphasizing the importance of unity irrespective of race, gender, or background.
Concluding his address, he reiterated his optimism about NEDCo’s future, assuring that the organization is poised to deliver reliable power with minimal losses while maximizing value for customers. He urged all stakeholders to rally behind the company’s transformation agenda.
