Former Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency, Ras Mubarak, has lauded the exemplary honesty and integrity of Ibrahim Salifu, a staff member of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, for returning GH₵20,000 (approximately $1,500) he found to its rightful owner.

Sharing his thoughts on the inspiring story through his Facebook page, Mr. Mubarak praised the cleaner’s act as a “selfless display of integrity worth celebrating.”

He described Salifu as a shining example of the values every Ghanaian should emulate, adding that such acts are crucial for building a better nation.

“It is people like Salifu Ibrahim who should be receiving national awards,” the former MP remarked.

“To have found and returned this amount, in spite of the circumstances of his life, is a selfless act of integrity worth celebrating.”

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, the company Salifu works for, rewarded him with an undisclosed amount of money in both Ghana cedis and U.S. dollars, as well as a motorbike to support his transportation needs.

In a statement, the company commended Salifu’s integrity and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding values of godliness and responsibility.

“We encourage all Ghanaians to live with integrity and a sense of responsibility,” the statement read.

Salifu’s remarkable act of honesty has since been celebrated across social media, with many calling for greater recognition of his contribution to promoting a culture of trust and integrity in Ghana.
