Tamale, Ghana – November 10, 2024: In a move to enhance healthcare delivery in the Tamale Central Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Member of Parliament for the area, has officially commissioned a new clinic and four apartments dedicated to accommodating nurses in the Gumbihini community.

The facility, funded by Catar Charity Foundation, marks a significant milestone for local healthcare and is now recognized as the largest clinic in the Tamale Metro, according to the Tamale Metro Health Director.

The opening ceremony was attended by community leaders, medical professionals, and residents. Notably, the Chief of Gumbihini, Nyab Gumbihini Dana, expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative, acknowledging the profound impact the clinic will have on the community’s health needs.

In recognition of the MP’s efforts, he bestowed upon Hon. Murtala Muhammed the chieftaincy title of Zesung Naa, an honor celebrating his commitment to the area.

In his speech, the chief pledged to ensure the clinic is well-maintained and used effectively, benefiting both current and future generations.

Hon. Murtala was joined by a group of medical students from the Gumbihini electoral area, reflecting his commitment to nurturing healthcare talent within his constituency.

The Tamale Metro Health Director highlighted the clinic’s state-of-the-art facilities and its potential to transform healthcare access across the metro area, positioning it as a pivotal resource for local residents.

The Gumbihini clinic, now fully operational, is anticipated to relieve pressure on other healthcare facilities in Tamale, providing accessible healthcare to thousands and strengthening the community’s overall health infrastructure.
