Tamale, October 12, 2024 – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Secretariat has indefinitely suspended Mr. Adam Abdul-Fatawu, the Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator, citing misconduct related to his recent social media comments and subsequent media outbursts.

The decision communicated through a letter signed by Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, follows an emergency meeting of the Northern Regional Executive Committee held earlier today.

According to the letter, Mr. Abdul-Fatawu’s remarks on social and media platforms have caused significant reputational damage to the party.

The suspension effective immediately, was enforced under Article 4(7a) of the NPP’s constitution, which identifies conduct that brings the party into disrepute as grounds for disciplinary action.

The matter has now been referred to the party’s Regional Disciplinary Committee for further review under Article 4(3)(2) of the party’s constitution.

Pending the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings, Mr. Abdul-Fatawu remains suspended from his duties as Nasara Coordinator.

The letter emphasizes the severity of the issue and urges Mr. Abdul-Fatawu to cooperate fully with the committee as they investigate the matter.

This development has sparked reactions within party circles as the NPP gears up for the December 2024 general elections, with members stressing the importance of maintaining discipline and unity within the party.

Further updates are expected as the disciplinary process unfolds.
