According to Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Genfi, the exercise, which begins this week, will see 12,000 new personnel enlisted over the next three years.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Genfi emphasized that the recruitment process reflects the vision of President and Commander-in-Chief, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, to make entry into the Armed Forces more affordable, accessible, and fair.
To this end, the cost of recruitment forms has been slashed by over 40% compared to the previous intake, making it easier for qualified Ghanaians from all walks of life to apply.
This recruitment will be conducted across all regions to ensure equal opportunity and national inclusion. Under our #EagleEyes watch, recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is not for sale and will never be for sale. Any individual or syndicate engaged in fraudulent recruitment schemes will be dealt with without mercy, Mr. Genfi cautioned.
He further warned that no recruitment activities will be conducted via social media, stressing that the entire process will be transparent and professional.
All applicants must meet strict medical and fitness requirements and be prepared for the demands of military service.
The Deputy Minister revealed that details of application qualifications, procedures, and regional recruitment centres will be publicly announced within the week through official channels, including the Ministry of Defence and GAF websites, selected newspapers, and other electronic media platforms.
The expansion drive, he said, is a crucial part of efforts to build a disciplined, well-equipped, and unified force capable of safeguarding Ghana’s sovereignty and responding to emerging security threats.
We are building a force that reflects the strength, discipline, and unity of Ghana. This exercise is not just about numbers; it is about securing the future of our nation, he stated.
