Yendi, Northern Region – November 8, 2024: Alhaji Hessien Ushaw, popularly known as “Alhaji Fuzak,” has commenced a four-day campaign tour of the Yendi constituency of theNorthernRegion.
The campaign started with a courtesy call on the Yaa Naa, the Paramount Chief of the Dagbon Traditional Area, at the historic Gbewaa Palace.
This move is part of a strategic effort by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to boost support for their parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Jofa Abdul Fataw Alhassan, and former President John Dramani Mahama, the party’s presidential candidate, ahead of the December 7th general elections.
Alhaji Ushaw, a prominent member and financier of the NDC and a respected figure in the Northern Region, is expected to rally grassroots support and engage community members across various parts of the Yendi constituency.
His campaign efforts aim to strengthen the NDC’s presence in the constituency, with a strong focus on the party’s promise of development, unity, and progress for the region.
Following the visit to the Yaa Naa, Alhaji Ushaw donated party-branded t-shirts and other paraphernalia to supporters in Yendi, encouraging them to promote the NDC’s vision.
The donation also includes an undisclosed amount of cash, intended to support local campaign activities. He has also adopted a number of youth groups within the Yendi constituency to help identify skilled youth for trade scholarships.
The gesture is expected to enhance the party’s visibility and mobilization efforts in the constituency, which is seen as a key battleground in the upcoming elections.
In his interactions with residents, Alhaji Ushaw highlighted the leadership qualities of Lawyer Jofa Abdul-Fataw Alhassan, emphasizing his commitment to community development and justice.
He also underscored the experience and achievements of former President Mahama, calling on constituents to rally behind the NDC for a government that will prioritize their needs and aspirations.
Alhaji Fuzak’s tour is set to cover various communities in the constituency, where he will continue to engage with chiefs, youth groups, and opinion leaders.
The campaign visit aims to solidify NDC support in Yendi as the party intensifies its efforts in the Northern Regions.
