Mahama: Ghana must come before politics, tribe or personal interest

99

President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to place the national interest above political, tribal, and personal considerations in order to strengthen unity and drive the country’s development.

According to him, genuine patriotism must be reflected in the everyday actions of citizens and public officials in protecting national resources and serving the public with integrity.

Speaking during Ghana’s 69th Independence Day address on Friday, March 6, at the Jubilee House, President Mahama noted that the progress of the country depends on the collective commitment of citizens to put Ghana first.

True patriotism must be shown through our everyday actions. The citizen who protects public property. The public servant who treats everyone with respect, he said.

He added that individuals in the private sector also have a critical role to play in building the country’s future.

And the entrepreneur who opts to invest his resources in Ghana’s future. Above all, we must place country above party, above tribe, and above personal interest. Citizens, Ghana is bigger than any one of us, President Mahama stated.
