Hon. Salim Abubakari has been re-elected as Presiding Member of the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly for a fourth consecutive term.

The endorsement was secured during a special meeting of the Assembly, which brought together Assembly Members, the Municipal Chief Executive, officials of the Electoral Commission, traditional authorities, members of the clergy, and party executives within the municipality.

The election process, supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission, reaffirmed the Assembly’s confidence in Hon. Abubakari’s leadership and stewardship over the years.

In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Abubakari expressed appreciation to members for the trust reposed in him and pledged to promote unity and collaboration among all stakeholders.

He emphasised his commitment to working closely with the Municipal Chief Executive, Assembly Members, and development partners to advance growth and improve service delivery across the municipality.

His re-election marks a significant milestone in the governance of the Assembly as it continues to confront key local governance and development challenges aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of residents in the municipality.
