Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew says he is not ready to announce his retirement from active football.

At the club level, the 36-year-old, after leaving French side Le Harve at the end of last season, made a return to club football after joining Dutch side NAC Breda.

Ayew, who joined the Eredivisie side as a free agent, signed a deal until the end of the season.

However, the U-20 World Cup winner last played for the national team during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Speaking to ESPN, Andre Ayew, the most-capped player for the Black Stars, said he feels good in his body and that now is not the moment to call time on his career.

I never thought about it (retirement) because my body is good, I feel good. I live my life day to day, so I prepare myself every time to have a better tomorrow on the field and off the field, he said.

I don’t think about that. When the moment comes, your body will tell you, he added.

Since arriving at NAC Breda, Ayew has made six league appearances, starting once as he works his way back to full match rhythm.
