Ghana’s Mpox tally has increased to 980 following the confirmation of 12 additional cases, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

Health authorities say there have been no new fatalities, keeping the national death toll at seven. One patient is currently receiving treatment under medical supervision.

The GHS has reiterated that Mpox is transmitted mainly through close physical contact with an infected person and has renewed calls for heightened public vigilance.

Members of the public are being advised to seek prompt medical care if they experience symptoms including fever, rash, headache, body pains, swollen lymph nodes, chills or unusual fatigue.

Health officials have also encouraged people who notice any of these signs to report early to the nearest health facility to support timely diagnosis and prevent further transmission.

The Ghana Health Service says it remains actively monitoring the situation and will continue to issue regular updates as part of efforts to safeguard public health.
