The National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Hon. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has ordered the arrest of the Northern Regional DRIP Coordinator, Seidu Seini, over allegations of misuse of government equipment.
Mr. Seini was arrested by officers of the Damongo Police Command following information received by the National DRIP Secretariat that he had allegedly deployed a regional bulldozer for use on his personal farm, contrary to DRIP operational guidelines.

Sources at the National Secretariat say preliminary investigations indicate that after using the bulldozer on his farm, the Regional Coordinator allegedly instructed that a regional low-bed truck be used to transport the equipment back from the site.
The alleged actions have raised serious concerns about abuse of office and the misappropriation of state resources intended solely for public infrastructure development.
Upon receiving the intelligence report, Hon. Vanderpuye acted swiftly, directing law enforcement agencies to apprehend the officer to assist with ongoing investigations, as part of efforts to safeguard the integrity of the programme and enforce accountability.

Meanwhile, the National DRIP Coordinator has directed his Deputy and the Director of Technical Services for the Northern Sector to immediately work with the security agencies to take custody of the equipment involved.
They have also been tasked to make the necessary arrangements to transfer both the bulldozer and the low-bed truck to an appropriate location, pending the outcome of investigations.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and the National DRIP Secretariat has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all programme resources are used strictly for their intended public purpose.
