Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is in Qatar on an official visit at the invitation of the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.

During the visit, both countries have engaged in fruitful bilateral discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic relations, boosting trade, enhancing strategic security cooperation, and collaborating on conflict mediation.

The talks underscore their shared commitment to a multilateral, rule-based order anchored in peace and stability.

The two nations have agreed to ease visa requirements to facilitate greater movement of people and goods, complementing existing direct flights.

They also have committed to finalising a labour mobility agreement, opening job opportunities for thousands of skilled young Ghanaians.

To boost business partnerships, Ghana and Qatar plan to hold a Presidential Ghana-Qatar Business Forum during President John Mahama’s visit next month, expected to strengthen trade ties and explore joint investment opportunities.

The visit signals a renewed partnership between Ghana and Qatar, highlighting prospects for deeper economic, political, and social cooperation in the near future.
