The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to accelerate the country’s renewable energy transition.

This follows a bilateral meeting he held with Mr. Ashish Khanna, Director-General of the International Solar Alliance, on the sidelines of the 8th Session of the ISA Assembly in New Delhi, India.

According to the Minister, discussions centred on enhancing the existing partnership between Ghana and ISA to promote renewable energy deployment and improve efficiency across the energy value chain, particularly in the distribution sector.

Hon. Jinapor emphasized Ghana’s readiness to leverage ISA’s global expertise to drive innovation and sustainability in the energy space.

We explored opportunities to deepen technical collaboration and develop sustainable financing mechanisms that can accelerate Ghana’s transition toward clean and reliable energy, he noted.

The Director-General of ISA, Mr. Ashish Khanna, reaffirmed the Alliance’s commitment to supporting Ghana through technical assistance, capacity building, and financial support, aimed at expanding access to affordable solar solutions and strengthening energy resilience.

The meeting underscored Ghana’s strategic focus on harnessing solar energy as a key driver of its green transition agenda.

Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects of a strengthened partnership that aligns with global efforts toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

Hon. Jinapor concluded that Ghana and ISA will continue to collaborate toward building a resilient, efficient, and inclusive energy ecosystem, one that harnesses the power of the sun to drive sustainable growth and development for all.
