Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Berekum East Constituency of the Bono Region have dismissed claims that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia lacks grassroots support ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

According to the delegates, the former Vice President remains the most marketable candidate capable of leading the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.

One of the delegates said the level of enthusiasm for Dr. Bawumia in the constituency is unmatched.

“He is the only candidate Ghanaians will vote for. The mistake we made in Berekum East will not be repeated. Even though there are five contenders, Dr. Bawumia will win with a great margin,” the delegate stated.

Another delegate, who serves as an electoral area coordinator in the region, said the former Vice President’s performance and dedication to the party will not go unrewarded.

“Dr. Bawumia’s contribution, particularly during the election petition, has not been forgotten. We are confident he will silence the opposition when he wins,” the coordinator said.

At the Kankaba polling station, the women’s organizer noted that all 17 polling station executives there have thrown their weight behind the Vice President.

“Claims that Dr. Bawumia lacks grassroots support are false. We believe he is the one who can secure power for the NPP in 2028,” she added.

Another delegate urged the party to allow Dr. Bawumia to continue the policies of President Akufo-Addo, stressing that his leadership would bring inclusive development.

Dr. Bawumia is concluding his campaign tour of the Bono Region today, with final stops in the Bono East, Sunyani West and Sunyani East constituencies.
