NDC Savannah Region condemns destruction of Party property in Bole

31

The Savannah Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the unlawful destruction of party property in Bole by a group of individuals allegedly affiliated with the party.

In a press statement dated January 21, 2025, and signed by the Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awuripe, the NDC distanced itself from the actions of the individuals, describing them as “barbaric and anti-party conduct.”

According to the statement, the individuals were reportedly destroying party signboards out of dissatisfaction with ministerial appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama.

The party directed the Ghana Police Service in the Savannah Region to investigate and prosecute all persons involved in or connected to these acts.

The NDC emphasized that such actions violate party discipline and law, urging the police to act decisively to deter similar occurrences in the future.

The Regional Executive Committee assured the public that it will subject any party member found to have participated in these activities to its disciplinary procedures.

The statement also appealed to party members and Ghanaians to remain calm and trust in President Mahama’s ability to assemble a capable team to reset the country’s governance.

The press release was copied to the media to ensure wide dissemination of the party’s position.

Authorities are yet to confirm arrests or investigations related to the incident.
