Mahama embarks on peace mission to Bawku and Nalerigu

President John Dramani Mahama has undertaken a critical peace-building mission to Bawku and Nalerigu today, Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

The visit forms part of the President’s unwavering commitment to resolving the protracted conflict in Bawku, which has plagued the region for decades.

During his time in the area, President Mahama is engaging with the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue and foster lasting peace.

His approach underscores his dedication to addressing one of Ghana’s most pressing regional conflicts through constructive conversations and inclusive solutions.

The President is determined to resolve the decades-old conflict in Bawku and will use the visit to engage the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue to achieve lasting peace, stated Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Presidential Spokesperson.

The peace mission reflects the President’s broader vision for a united Ghana, where disputes are addressed through diplomacy and mutual understanding.

After completing his engagements in the two communities, President Mahama will return to Accra later today.

This visit highlights the administration’s focus on peace, reconciliation, and development as central pillars of governance in 2025.
